leaders, ministers, rabbis, priests, books…. these are not authoritative sources. words are the least reliable purveyor of truth. listen to your feelings! pay attention to your experience!
god communicates with us all the time…but we fail to acknowledge its messages.
some, because they seem too good to be true. others, because they seem too difficult to follow. many, because they are simply misunderstood. most, because they are not received.
many people choose to believe that God communicates in special ways and only with special people.
all this does, is remove the mass of the people from the responsibility that comes from hearing gods messages, and allows them to take someone else's word for everything.
we think that because god has maybe already spoken with someone, we don’t have to listen anymore.
if we acknowledge that we are receiving gods messages directly, then we are responsible for interpreting them.
but we choose not to, because it is far safer and much easier to accept the interpretation of others...
(even others who have lived 2,000 years ago).
not only do i think that we tend to go about listening to god incorrectly, but the way we talk to him is also unfruitful by nature.
praying for something only works to push it away from us.
we cannot have that for which we ask, because the statement itself is a statement of lack. us telling god that we want a thing, only works to produce that precise experience: wanting.
the correct prayer is therefore never a prayer of supplication, but a prayer of gratitude.
when you thank God in advance for that which you choose to experience in your reality, you, in effect, acknowledge that it is there. . in effect.
thankfulness is thus the most powerful statement to God; an affirmation that even before you ask, god has answered. therefore never supplicate, appreciate.
it should go without saying , that gratitude cannot be used as a tool with which to manipulate God; a device with which to fool the universe.
you cannot lie to yourself. your mind knows the truth of your thoughts.
if you are saying "thank you, god, for such and such," all the while being very clear that it isn't there in your present reality, you can't expect God to be less clear than you, and so produce it for you.
god knows what you know, and what you know is what appears as your reality.
everythingis either absolute, or relative.
the absolute refers to the ultimate, unchanging truth or reality that exists beyond our perceptions and interpretations.
the relative pertains to our personal experiences, perceptions, and interpretations of reality.
i had previously discussed the nonexistence of an independent, enduring soul... but thats only because i think that what we call "soul" is nothing more than the part of God which dwells in the realm of the relative.
thats it! thats what we're doing here...
thats what i think God's plan is: to become realized through us!
...what else did you think God was up to?...
there is only one purpose for all of life, and that is for us to experience fullest glory.
everything else we say, think, or do is attendant of that function.
"how do i learn to expirience fullest glory?"
"what do i need to do in order for God to become realized through me?"
"how can i expirience godness as an act of creation, rather than a conceptualization?"
